Research of Nd2O3 and Yb2OCo-doped YSZ Thermal Barrier Coatings Produced by Electron Beam Physical Vapor Deposition

Abstract:

10 mol% Nd2O3 and Yb2O3 co-doped YSZ(3-5 mol% Y2O3 partially stabilized zirconia)was produced by a solid state sintering method.The doped material was t/t′ phase and YSZ was mixture of t/t′ and m phases.The thermal diffusion coefficient of the doped material was 4.10×10-7 m2/s and that of 8YSZ(8 wt.% Y2O3 partially stabilized zirconia)was 6.41×10-7m2/s at 1 100 ℃.The specific heat of the doped material was much lower than that of 8YSZ at the temperature between 2001 300 ℃.
