Abstract:

Dynamic stability derivative (DSD) test techniques for aeronautical and astronautical vehicles are investigated at High Speed Aerodynamics Institute of CARDC. The main techniques are:DSD test technique at high speed and high angle of attack; DSD test technique for reentry body models at trimming condition; roll damping derivative test technique based on the air bearing in a hypersonic wind tunnel. Test setups and measurement systems needed are described. Typical test results are analyzed and discussed in the report.

Key words: flight vehicle, dynamic stability derivative, wind tunnel test technique, high angle of attack
