Abstract: The tests and studies of three "panel" polygonal-cross-section fuselage models and one circular section fuselage model are carried out respectively in RCS-stealthy and low speed aerodynamic characteristics. The polygonal section fuselages are better than the circular section fuselage not only in stealth, especially the RCS of the side surfaces of the fuselages is lower than that of the circular one with the same area by an order both in horizontal polarization and in vertical polarization, but also in aerodynamic characterstics, for example in lift and maximum lift-drag ratio. An aerodynamic characteristics correction evaluation method is proposed based on the contour of the "panel" polygonal cross section on the basis of the cross flow viscous effects of the side flange angles and the calculation method of low aspect ratio wing. The results of calculation are in good agreement with those of the experiment.
