Abstract:

In this paper, the influence of second phase on the behavior of interaction between fatigue and creep for a Nickel-based superalloy GH33A at 700℃ is investigated. Preliminary experimental results showed that the characteristics of intergranular damage and the interaction mechanism vary with the size ot second phase particles and the distance between them. The finely linked second phases at grain boundary cause W type intergranular creep damages its microscopic mechanism is that fatigue crack joins with W type microcrack. On the other hand, the thinly scattered coarse second phases at grain boundary cause R type void intergranular creep damage.
