Abstract: A new method called"two dimensional partition design"and its computer program are developed in order to use microcomputers to design large-scale project networks. With this method the large-scale network is designed in parts to produce a. number of subnetworks, and then all the sub-networks are merged to form a whole network. In the paper the problems raised are discussed and the solution technique is introduced. By using the computer program developed with this algorithm a large-scale project network(with more than 500 activities) can be designed with a micro-computer such as IBM-PC/XT(256K).
