Abstract: Three-dimensional numerical computation of flow and temperature field for jet array impingement is conducted to investigate the effects of the impingement space, the impinging hole arrangement and the initial crossflow on heat transfer characteristics. A high-resolution liquid crystal thermography technique is used for the experimental study on jet array impingement to map out the temperature distribution on the target surface. The qualitative and quantitative results are obtained and analyzed, which indicate that the agreement of present calculation and experimental data is reasonable.
