NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF BLOOD CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER

Abstract: A mathematical model of blood convection heat transfer is presented based on the theoretical analysis of blood flow and heat transfer process. The Nu numbers of blood convection heat transfer under two typical boundary conditions, constant wall temperature and constant wall heat flux, are calculated by numerical method. The calculated results show that there is a difference about 20% for a given Y between the calculated Nu numbers under the above two boundary conditions。 Therefore, the wall temperature distribution along the flow direction affects the blood convection heat transfer process, even under the same blood velocity distribution. The calculated results can be used to develop the mathematical model of human thermoregulation system.
