Abstract:

The self made TbDyFe magnetostrictive rod is applied to produce a giant magnetostrictive actuator. The effect of magnetic field uniformity on the actuator behavior has been studied. The finite element analysis (Ansys) is used to optimize the design of the actuator excited field. The test shows that the actuator works in the linear range, and its total displacement is up to 70μm. Performance is measured based on the present actuator. The low frequency vibration is obtained, and the adaptive filter control concept is used to obtain tie excellent actively controlled vibration reduction of 30dB.
