PROGRESSIVE DAMAGE SINULATION FOR SIMGLE FASTENER COMPOSITE JOINTS

Abstract: A progressive damage model is developed for composite joints.The model combined with finite element approach is used to simulate the damage-failure process of a single fastener composite joints.The mdel consists of classified damage criteria,stiffness degradation in damage zone and ultimate failure criteria.The simulation is capable of assessing damage beginning,damage types and damage accumulation,and of predicting the ultimate strength and the ultimate failure mode of the joint.Numerical calculations are given and the reults are compared with earlier papers.
