Method to Analyze Horizontal Tail Area Benefits of RSS Aircraft

Abstract:

As viewed from the air craft’s trimming angle, the effects of the quantity of rearward movement of the c.g. and the horizontal tail area on the craft’s longitudinal aerodynamic coefficients are investigated respectively and synthetically,then the mathematical relation between the horizontal tail area and the quantity of rearward movement of c.g. is built.According to the results, a new method to analyze the horizontal tail area benefits for the RSS aircraft efficiently is proposed and applied to the tail area’s benefits computation of IL-76.
