Application of Bifurcation Analysis to Control Law Design at High Angles of Attack

Abstract: After a thorough investigation of the bifurcation behaviors of the nonlinear model of an inher ently staticunsteady air craft at high angles of attack, eigenstructure assignment was applied to design the longitudinal controllaw and gain-scheduled later al control law. Results show that the unexpected bifurcat ion behaviors are restr ained andt he stable and decoupled flight envelope is extended.
