Abstract:

A honeycomb is utilized to reduce the radar cross section (RCS) value of inlets. The effects of the honeycomb on the total pressure distortion, the swirl of secondary flow and total pressure recovery of the S shaped inlet are described. The experimental results show that the honeycomb with stealthy material can greatly reduce the RCS value of inlets and change the property of tha radar cross section. The honeycomb also can improve the aerodynamic performance of inlets. It reduces the degree of total pressure distortion and the swirl of secondary flow, and it can even make the bulk swirl disappear.
