Abstract:

A numerical simulation is described for nonequilibrium flows of high temperature gas behind strong normal shock waves with chemical reactions by using a three temperature kinetic model. The collision dissociation reactions, bimolecular exchange reactions and dissociative recombination reactions are considered in the model. The three temperature kinetic model includes the translational temperature, oxygen molecular vibration temperature and nitrogen molecular vibration temperature. The variations of gas parameters and chemical species with time in nonequilibrium region are calculated in a wider range of Mach number(6~26). The calculated results are compared with the results of relative references.
