Abstract: The interactions between the shock absorber, wheel, tyre, etc . will result in the longitudinal buffet of landing gears,i.e. gear walking phenomena. To cope with this analytical models of the main landing gear and of individual components are set up respectively. Furthermore, dynamic simulations are made for the dynamic properties of gear walking. As a result, several simulating curves of the dynamic characteristics are obtained and the effects of some structural parameters, such as the strut stiffness, on the longitudinal buffet of landing gears are discussed.
