Abstract: The relationship of hardness and wear resistance of electroless NiP alloy plating was studied. High hardness of plating could be obtained at low temperature for a long term, and was not changed after attained maximum. Hardness was decreased after maximum by high temperature heating. The maximum hardness was the same attained by heat treatment at different temperatures, the wear resistance was different, however,so it was better treated at higher tmeperatures. X ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis showed that the phosphorus content on the surface was much more than that at the substrate of NiP plating.

Key words: chemistry plating, hardness, wear resistance.
