Abstract: A sputtering technology that deposits transparent conducting metal dielectric multilayer films on PMMA used in airplane canopies is studied. The optical and conducting characteristics of Au,Ag and TiO 2 films are tested and their morphologies and structures are also analyzed. Matching computations of TiO 2 Au TiO 2 and TiO 2 Ag TiO 2 film systems based on thin film optical principles have been made, and such transparent conducting multilayer films were deposited. In the visible range of 400~760nm, the transmittance reached 74% and 81% respectively. The reflectivity of perpendicularly incidenting microwaves in the range from 8~12 GHz came to-1 1dB and-0 80dB respectively.
