NUMERICAL SIMULATION AND EXPERIMENTAL VERIFICATION OF FAILURE PROCESS AND LOAD-CARRYING CAPACITY FOR MECHANICALLY FASTENED JOINTS IN COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES

Abstract: The bolt load distribution,progressive failure models and corresponding load-carrying capacity for mechanically fastened joints in composite materials and structures are investigated by means of numerical simulation combined with experimental verification.The theoretical and experimental results for typical joints as examples are in good agreement,illustrating the effectiveness of the numerical simulation provided in the paper.
