Abstract:

A novel radar error calibration method is proposed to much easily calibrate the high-accuracy radar, which is based on the dynamic correction of the automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) fixed error and the change of the target echo center. Firstly, the source, types and the characteristics under radar coordinate system of ADS-B position data error are analyzed. Secondly, a model of the change of aviation target echo center is established and analyzed. Finally, on this basis, the radar systematic errors are estimated through a dynamic joint correction to the difference of radar data and ADS-B data. This method can improve the precision and stability of the estimation of radar systematic error. Multiple batches' measured data is used to test and verify the novel method and also to compare the performance with other methods. The result indicates that this method effectively improves the precision and stability of the radar systematic error calibration and the method succeeds in applying it to radar calibration equipment.
