Abstract:

In order to fuse the automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) track with the radar track with high-quality, it is very important to verify the quality of ADS-B track data and radar track data. Based on the analysis of the actual ADS-B track data, a new method to validate the accuracy and integrity of ADS-B track data is proposed, which uses the route as the reference. According to ADS-B messages for different navigation uncertain category for position (NUCp) values, the method uses the statistical bias between the track point and the route centerline as the actual location error. Using the Quantile-Quantile figure method to test the actual position error for normal distribution, the method gains the actual error confidence interval at the confidence level of 99%, which is a reliable error range for different NUCp values. When using the weighted average method to fuse ADS-B track and radar track, according to experimental results, we could increase the weight for the ADS-B track data of NUCp value being 5 or 6 and reduce the weight in the case of NUCp value being 7, which is different from traditional weight allocation.
