Rapid Estimation Method for Aircraft Weight and Center of Gravity Based on 3-D Parametric Modeling

Abstract:

According to the requirements of frequent estimation and adjustment of weight and center of gravity (c.g.) during aircraft conceptual design, a method based on 3-D parametric modeling is proposed to realize rapid weight and c.g. estimation and adjustment by editing relevant parameters. Based on the method, the parameters used to describe the model and the process of modeling are determined by analyzing the object and logic of aircraft modeling, so that the system used for model design and weight analysis can be developed. Finally, a case study is presented to show the procedure of weight and c.g. estimation using the method proposed by this paper.
