Abstract: In the present paper, an eight-order partial differential equation that is applicable for bending, buckling and free vibration of fiber reinforced laminated cylindrical shells is derived by introducing a generalized displacement function. The general form of the exact solutions of the eight-order differential equation is given for typical laminated cylinders with di6 =Bi6=Di6 =0.0( i =1, 2 ) in the constitutive equations.
