Abstract: The temperature distribution on the surfaee of a flight vehicle and the variation of the modulus of elasticity with respect to temperature are considered in this paper. The minimum weight structural design with constraints on frequency, constraints on the coordinats of modal nodes and constraints on the upper and lower bounds of the design variables are studied using Kuhn-Tucker conditions as optimal criterion. The variation of the first three order natural fre-quencies,modal shapes and minimum structural weight vs. temperature gradient are discussed. The paper points out that it is important to take into account the effect of aerodynamic heating on structural dynamic optimization. Calculation example shows that this method is feasible and efficient.
