Abstract:

Magnetorheological(MR) fluids are a class of new intelligent materials which obtained highly attention in recent years. Their rheological characteristics change rapidly in the presence of an applied magnetic field, which are easy to control. MR fluids have been used successfully in a number of applications and have a very promising future. In this paper, the studies on MR fluids in the last decade are reviewed comprehensively including their compositions, properties, field induced structures and applications.
