Torsion Characteristics of Active Laminates with 1-3PFC Layers

Abstract: Deformations of four typies of laminates with 1-3 piezoelectric fiber composites(1-3 PFC) layers are obtained by using the analytical methods.Then vibration properties of the active laminates which have torsional ability are investigated;and harmonic results of this type active laminate under electric field are got.The factors including amplitude of electric field,frequency of electric field,orientation and volume ratio of piezoelectric fibers which influences the torsion property are studied.The numerical examples which are compared to the theoretic results and FE results prove the feasibility of the analysis method presented here.The results also show that the laminates with 1-3 piezoelectric fiber composites have a good active torsional ability.
