Abstract: This article presents a comprehensive study of the acquisition model of an anti-ship missile homing radar. To meet the constraints of acquisition-probabilities of the first animus-search period and the global search of the homing radar, an objective function is built on the scan-area of the homing radar in the first animus-search period, which is used to calculate the optimum search-graph of the homing radar, thus achieving the optimum search-graph of the homing radar varying with the target distance. Furthermore, a polynomial-fitting model is built on the calculated optimum data of the search-graph, which is easily programmed, required small storage space and less computational complexity for the actual fire control system. The conclusion is that it is a simple and practical method in calculating the optimum search-graph of the homing radar of long or medium range anti-ship missiles.
