Abstract: The response of vibration system vibration can be efficiently reduced by a dry friction damper. Friction damper may be effective over a far broader range by microslip analyses. The force acting on a damper and the displacement of damper are described by using a variable named slip length, the damper is equivalent to a viscous damping and a spring by the equivalent method of energy, and the analysis method of vibration system with the friction damper is developed by using a microslip model and the response of blade with friction damper is calculated. The calculation results indicate that the microslip of a damper can markedly reduce the responses of vibration system, and that there is an optimal normal load, under which the response of the vibration system is minimum at the resonance in the system.
