Abstract: A nonlinear flight control approach based on backstepping theory is presented . The flight control approach based on feedback linearizaton theory is usually applied to the inner-outer loop control with the assumption that the flight dynamic property can be separated in time scale. The stability of this timescale separation approach may be analyzed by the singular perturbation theory. However, in most nonolinear flight control researches, the gain of the inner-loop controller is set much larger than that of the outer loop controller, and it is assumed that the aircraft dynamically satisfies this property. This does not guarantee the closed-loop stability. While the backstepping-based nonlinear flight control approach is used without this assumption, it avoids the hidden trouble that causes closed-loop system instability in theory. In this paper, the backstepping-based nonlinear flight control approach is applied to the Thrust-Vector Flight control system, and High-Angle-of-Attack supermaneuver is studied .Correction and availability of this approach are verified by the simulations.
