Abstract:

The air force is a decisive element for winning a local high\|tech war. Combat airplanes are the most critical weapons the air force equipped with. The research basis of this study is the performance standards of modern weapons, such as operational capability, reliability, maintainability, supportability, safety, survivability, suitability, and the life cycle cost of a combat aircraft. Taking into consideration the customer requirements and the ideas from engineering design experts, an integrated evaluation criterion for the conceptual/preliminary design of combat aircraft has been established. Calculation formula for the criterion was described. Assessment methods for conceptual/preliminary design of combat aircraft were presented and finally an example. It is shown that the criterion acts a positive role in the parameter analysis, system synthesis and scheme comparison of combat aircraft design.
