Abstract: The unsteady phenomena of relating stall and surge in an axial flow compressor gas turbine engine are perplexing the indusiry which may damage the compressor even the whole engine. The optimum performance of a turbine engine is usually achieved when the compressor is operating near us maximum pressure ratio, but it is close to or penetrates the surge boundary. In order to keep she cosine performance high and avoid surge, it is necessary to carry out engine surge screenst and anti-surge control. The theory of extended Kalman estimation is applied to the state estimate of compressive system after the observability of this system is discussed and the simulation on a digital computer is taken. It is concluded that the states of a turbine engine can be estimated with the method of extended Kaiman estimation.
