Abstract: A reflector antenna with small radar cross section (RCS) is introduced. The antenna's main reflector is made of polarization selective surface (PSS) with parallel copper grids supported by a dielectric substrate. It is designed to reflect the parallel polarized waves and to pass the vertical polarized waves. The reflection and transmission characteristics of the PSS reflector are analyzed using the equivalent circuit model (ECM), and the measured radiation pattern and RCS of the antenna are presented and compared with those of an ordinary metallic reflector antenna. Good radiation pattern agreement between two antennas and small RCS performance of the PSS reflector antennas for vertical polarized waves are obtained.
