Abstract:

The centrifugal forces of blades of a set of propeller during rotating may be resolved into two parts: static unbalanced force acting in the rotating plane of blades and dydamic unbalanced couples acting perpendicularly to the rotating plane. The blades of a set of propeller being not exactly identical, both the static and dynamic unbalanced force and couple are different at different pitch angle, but the applied balancing force and ciuple on the balde will not change at different pitch angle. By employing the vector analysis method and a special vector balancing diagram mentioned in this paper, the balancing result at every pitch angle is easily estimated. The balancing only needs once to meet the specification at all pitch angle ,and furthermore the optimum balancing is obtained. The method of vector analysis is better than the existiing method usually used, which needs "try and error"to balance and cannot make sure whether it meets the demand of balancing.
