A NEW ALGORITHM FOR THE SYSTEM OF LINEAR EQUATIONS OF FEM

Abstract: This paper provides a new storing method with the link-table data structure to store the global stiffness matrix in the finite element structural analysis system, and improves a finite element structural analysis system. By examples, it is proved that, with the new system, the computer memory to store the matrix can be decreased about 50%, and the time for solving the dystem of linear equations can be reduced to a quarter. Therefore, the solving capacity and efficiency of the new system can be improved greatly, and the new system can do the complex structural analysis in micro-computers.
