Abstract: This paper deals with the integration of interactive graphics principles wtih 2D NC machining programming techniques and development of a software package-AUTOP for automatic programming.The research shows that- applying interactive graphics to 2D NC programming can provide good transparence and good users interface;the principle and the method of realization have been discussed in detail. The dynamic simulation of machining process has been proved to be fast, picturesque and accurate. For 2D NC programming, APT can be replaced by automatically interactive graphics system without additional cost.The development of AUTOP will be of great help to 2D NC machining programming.
