USING INTEGRAL TEMPERATURE CRITERION TO PREDICT SCUFFING FAILURE OF BEVEL GEARS FOR AIRCRAFT

Abstract: This paper describes the characteristcs of integral tempurature criterion that predicts scuffing failure of bevel gears.It also provides the results of scuffingon lubricating oil for aircraft engines and the scuffing temperatures of bevelgears.The integral temperature criterion is applied to verification on a few dozens of bevel gears used for a variety of aircraft on active service,The calculation results are essentially coincident with the practice.
