Abstract:

In this paper a statistical analysis method for strength of composite materials is treated. By using the strength data from Referrence[5], parametric estimation and hypothesis testing are made for the two parameter Weilbull distribution function adopted in the paper. On the basis of statistical analysis, a method of determining the allowable design values is proposed. Approach to select factor of safety that is based on structural reliability and taken account of the statistical characteristics of material strength is discussed Finally, We give some discussion to this paper in two aspects.
