Abstract: To research the influence of Radar Absorbing Material (RAM) abscission on the RCS reduction ability of Spherical Convergent Flap Nozzle (SCFN), the electromagnetic scattering characteristic of the nozzle under different abscission probability were studied by using the Iterative Physical Optical (IPO) with the impedance boundary condition based on the research on the coating medium at different parts. The research shows the value of the RCS of the SCFN would increase with the abscission probability increasing. The RAM which has not been fallen off can maintain 68.19% of the RCS reduction ability when the abscission probability reaches 0.7 in the pitch plane. While the RAM should be coated again when the abscission probability reaches 0.5 in the yaw plane.
