Abstract:

The ordering of imperfect repairable spare parts supplied with lateral transshipments is an effective approach to improve support effectiveness of equipment. Since the existing researches do not meet the demands of complex hierarchical structure of equipment in army or do not consider the discard of imperfect repairable spare parts, an inventory model considering multi-echelon support system for multi-level equipment with lateral transshipments is built and the simulation shows that the model produces accurate estimation. With constraints of equipment availability and objective of the lowest cost of spare parts, the optimal initial inventory distribution of spare parts is obtained by marginal optimization algorithm. With the consideration of discard spare parts, the follow-up ordering project is got by judging the ordering and holding costs. Compared with the model without transshipments, numerical study shows that policy of transshipments plays an important role in improving support effectiveness of equipment.
