Abstract: Considering the action of aeronautical maintenance as the system of " man-machine-environment" , and the behavior deviation of maintainers as the essence of maintenance errors , this paper provides the definition of aeronautical maintenance errors. Besides, by regarding the maintainers, the equipment maintainability and the maintenance environment as internally and externally interrelated factors for analysing the contributing factors of maintenance errors; by taking the abnormity of sequence or state, the equipment damage and the personnel casualty as the main contents for analysing the consequence of maintenance errors, the theoretical basis for further study of maintenance errors is laid and the way for effective maintenance managment is shown.
