Theoretical Analysis and Prediction Method for the Trailing Edge Loss of Turbine Cascade with Coolant Injection

Abstract: A two-dimensional, compr essible flow model for loss created by the mixing behind the turbine cascadewith coolant injection is presented, based on the theor y developed by Denton. T he principal mechanism and character istics of loss caused by the flow mixing due to wake, coolant and base flow ( base pressur e) have been establishedin this paper. Calculations show that the coolant flow mass, base pressure and boundary layer momentum thicknesshave a great effect on the trailing edge loss. This paper presents t he quantitative r esumts to assess the effects ofabove parameters on the trailing edge loss.
