Abstract:

The effects of creep grinding of nickel base cast superalloy K417 with Al 2O 3 and CBN wheels have been compared thoroughly. It is pointed out that Al 2O 3 is not suitable for highly efficient grinding of difficult to machine material used in aeronautics such as K417, and that CBN is an effective tool for creep feed grinding of those materials with high efficiency. By a large amount of experiments, it has been verified that intermittent CBN wheel is superior in creep feed grinding of K417. The new problems encountered when applying resin bonded wheels in intermittent grinding have been comparatively perfectly solved. Comprehensive effect analysis in the end shows that the technical art has a prospective future of application and extreme value to be spread.
