Abstract:

In order to address the problem of traditional methods of flexible rotor balancing tests which requires adding weights and starting many times, this paper provides a new method without trial weights for flexible rotor balancing based on the development of rotor finite element modeling technology. It requires the modal shapes obtained by software Samcef rotor and the vibration information of reference points to obtain the size and orientation of the counterweight. This method is carried out on a test rotor. After balancing the amplitude of the rotor through the first critical speed is reduced by 59.44% and the amplitude of the rotor through the second critical speed is reduced by 97.56%. The results of the experiments demonstrate that this method can reduce rotor vibration and improve the efficiency of flexible rotor balancing.
