Study on infrared heating system based on automatic placement process

Abstract: With the widespread application of composite both in aerospace and other fields, the Automated Placement forming technology that high efficiency and inexpensive is gaining increasing interest. By contrasting the conventional hot gas heating manner and consulting related study abroad, adopts infrared heating to replace hot gas heating manner. According to the established infrared heating mathematical model under steady state; based on the hardware structures of Automatic Tape Laying machine, by employ feedforward control manner, establish relevant control strategy, constructs infrared heating thermostatic automatic controlling system which regards speed as variable quantity、makes temperature to be the controlled variable、using Programmable Logic Controller(PLC) as the cybernetics core. The experiments show that: the infrared heating thermostatic automatic controlling system makes composite constructs with smooth surface、low in amount of gaps between different prepreg pieces, the suitable stickiness insure that prepreg doesn’t bond with backing paper and no slippage phenomenon happened, so this system can satisfy the desire of thermostatic automatic controlling under high and variable speed situations.
