Abstract: By means of analysing two typical penetrating models quantitatively, three essential measures have been developed to enhance the stealthy penetrating capability of Exocetlike missiles. 1. The skimming altitude must be depressed; 2. It must be launched at a distance over the horizion; 3. The nose-on radar cross section of the missile must be reduced to a much lower level. Among the three measures, depressing the skimming altitude is the most important one. If it is failed to depress the skimming altitude and only the reduction of radar cross section is. concentrated, then the radar cross section showed be reduced to the level of -30dBsm to -40dBsm. On the other hand, if only the over-the-horizion launching technique is used, then the exposed range of the missile will be increased significantly.
