Abstract:

As a new approach to the fabrication of carbon/carbon composites, forced flow thermal gradient chemical vapor infiltration(FCVI) process can overcome the problems of slow diffusion and restricted permeability, resulting in dramatically short densification time with uniform infiltration and good properties. This paper described the difference of temperature between gas and preform. On the basis of theoretic analysis, an equation was deduced to describe the relation of temperature between gas and preform. Moreover, the relation between the temperature distribution of gas and the flow quantity of gas was investigated according to the equation.
