HYBRID-TYPE DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR RESOURCE ALLOCATION

Abstract: The static resource allocation problem is studied in this paper. A model for the resource allocation problem is set up on the information provided by hard data and soft data. The hard data is based on the cross-sectional table from clay to day operation and the soft data is based on the experience of managers. Then a nonlinear optimization algorithm with constrains is employed to make an optimal resource allocation decision.An interactive software package is developed for the hybrid-type decision support system which is applied to the airline tickets allocation problem. An optimal tickets allocation decision is made to result in 23% profit increase. This package can be applied to a large group of resource allocation problems.
