Abstract:

In this paper, a new two-dimensional mathematical model of human thermoregulation for personal thermal conditioning with water cooling is developed. This model is of practical use in engineering. It can be used to predict transient temperature response forahuman in a nonuniform hot environment, doing different jobs, and dressing in different clothes. This model can also evaluate time within which man can work effectively in a hot environment, fn addition, this model can be used for optimum design and evaluation of personal thermal conditioning systems. It has been extensively verified by comparison with experimental data.
