A FRACTURE ANALYSIS USING EIGHT-NODE-ISOPARAMETRIC SINGULAR ELEMENTS AND ITS APPLICATION IN FUSELAGE PANELS

Abstract: In order to develop an effective engineering method for fracture analysis of structures, a stress intensity factor solution represented only by the node displacements of a eight-node-isoparametric singular element has been derived and employed in this paper. A fracture analysis of stiffened fuselage panels, a kind of typical aircraft stiuptures, has been carried out. The results show that the engineering purpose can be satisfactorily fulfilled.
