NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF NON EQUILIBRIUM FLOW AROUND A BLUNT BODY

Abstract: Non equilibrium flow at Ma ∞=25,h =70km around a whole two dimensional blunt wedge is numerically simulated by finite difference method with sloving N S equations.The half wedge angle is 20°,and bluntness is 0 60. The gas model consists of seven species,with eleven chemical reactions considered. Firstly,the results on the nose are compared with existing calculations,and good agreement is obtained.Then the results in the near wake are given. At Ma ∞ =25,the temperature is still high and the electron number is still very large in the near wake flow.
