Abstract:

The experimental study on emulsifying channel injector shows that there is a recirculation zone behind the channel and the downstream turbulent intensity increases considerably (generally ε>10%). The fuel injected into the channel forms a pair of parallel sources on both outside edges of the channel as two flat slit airblast atomizers. Consequently, its atomizing quality is much better than that of a plain orifice injector. The emulsifying channel injector is worthy of thorough investigation, because its spray diffuses fast and spreads over wide area and its fuel distribution is more uniform and less dependent on its operating conditions.
