Abstract: This paper proposes a new algorithm of fault tolerant control: Minimum Variance Control on Random Parameter. In this method, a controlled process is presented as a random model whose parameters have probability distributions. The fault tolerant control is of mini-mum variance control in the case of random parameters and noises. The fault tolerant control system of ground to air missile which has a sensor failure of rudder control loop is designed and simulated by digital computer. The result of simulation indicates that when the failure of missile control system occurs, a normal minimum variance control is out of order but the fault tolerant control of minimum variance obtains a good performance of dynamical response.
